Joe Schmoe, Jerry, and Mike above – you are ALL WRONG. CAN YOU READ?? The author is talking about a TRANSMISSION FLUSH, NOT normal fluid/filter change, also known as “transmission service”.

Transmission flush is a relatively new service which, as the author described, uses a machine hooked up to the tranny to flush out all the fluid using high pressure. This is NOT what vehicle manufacturers recommend. They recommend traditional transmission service – dropping the transmission pan, draining the fluid, remove the filter (aka screen), cleaning the debris off the magnet, then installing a new filter and fluid. This changes about 60-70% of the fluid in the trans. Some is always left behind. This is how it’s done, it’s safe, and very effective. I’ve gotten over 225K out of 4 GM vehicles by doing this every 30-50K.

So before you clowns posting above start calling the author all kinds of names, maybe you should take a reading comprehension class. The author is advocating traditional transmission service, not the “flush” offered by the fly-by-nighter’s like Jiffy Lube, et al.

I know someone who took a car that will not be paid for until next year (bank has title – car was 2007 model) out of their relatives’ yard without permission and took it to the salvage yard. You are right they (salvage yard) doesn’t care if car has title or not! To me this is a stolen car, but since the relatives seem to not want to do anything about it, I guess they will get away with it. I tried to report it to the sheriff’s department, but to no avail.

Lizard Lick Towing and Recovery has been around longer than both of the TV shows. Ron and Amy Shirley do own it. Several of the people getting repo’ed are real and known around town. They are not all actors… But I do believe the show is scripted. I have never in person heard Ron use one off the Ronisms he is known for on the show.

This guy who wrote this article is a complete idoit and is most likely a rookie who doesn’t know crap about cars. Almost every owners manual will tell you to service your trans from 30,000 miles on some, to 100,000 miles on the dex6 fluids. I think before you write a long and lengthy article you should now what you are talking about first.

I used this product on my 2002 Honda CRV and it overcharged the AC unit-too much pressure. The condenser is fried and there is now no AC. At least before I used this product I had a little.

I think for choosing a good mechanic you should never see your mechanic based on price only. You should prefer the auto mechanics based on performance and experience. For that I have thought that I must see auto repair reviews for some mechanics before hiring them.

I have a junk car in the bottom of my swimming pool. I called several charities. They send a tow truck out, but when they find out that the car is at the bottom of a pool filled with smelly water (it hasn’t been treated in years) they don’t want anything to do with it. Someone please help me.

My air conditioning unit isn’t working and blowing fuses.The mechanic said that was because of the coil clutch bearing. Worn out or siezed I assume.It’s drawing too much juice.Wants $1,200 to fix. What can I do?
