Firestone all weather car mats review – these floor mats are made just like the more expensive WeatherTech ones but for about a fifth of the price!

I bought a set of 4 floor mats by Firestone and was pleasantly surprised by how well they work and they cost me under $30!
I happened to see a set of 4 car floor mats that looked just like the expensive WeatherTech ones you can see advertised in the back of various car magazines like Car & Driver, Road & Track, etc… for $150 for less then $30! I looked them over and they were designed basically the same and looked the same – the only difference was that they carried the brand name Firestone instead of WeatherTech.
Now, I remember that a few years back Firestone got a bad reputation for having serious quality issues with their tires, but these were floor mats and I don’t see the serious problems happening with these car mats that could happen with tires. The worst case with car mats that could happen is that they wear out and I need to buy replacements. So I bought the set of 4 floor mats for my Oldsmobile.

I actually didn’t have to trim them to fit as they fit just right in my car and were easy to install. The tan colored car mats I got look like they were made for my car and match the interior perfectly. I have been using them for a while and they work great far better then the carpeted floor mats that came with the car. The carpeted mats needed to be vacuumed out every few months.
The new Firestone car mats did not need any vacuuming – I could just pull them out and then shake them out lightly and then replace them in the car. These new car mats keep my car looking cleaner and they don’t fade as easily from the sun as my regular carpeted floor mats do.

The Firestone car mats are made for all vehicles and come with instructions on how to trim to fit your car. They also came in a grey, charcoal color which would look great in a darker interior car, but I stay away from dark colored cars both interior and exterior because I live in the south and on hot days these darker colors will turn your car into an oven.
I recommend these Firestone car mats and I love the fact that they were well under $30 for the set. They are every bit as good and well designed as the WeatherTech all weather car mats for about a fifth of the price. I think I got mine at the local auto parts store (PepBoys or Advanced Automotive, but I don’t remember which one).
